Although Loco Lounge remains closed during the current lockdown, the lovely Loco team (who we all miss dearly!) want to make good use of the temporarily closed kitchen to help locals in need.
The staff from Loco Lounge are kindly volunteering their time and expertise to help feed those in need by preparing, cooking and packaging fresh meals, and have joined forces with The Station food bank and The Active Wellbeing Society to help distribute. They’re ready to launch the project next week, but need your help! If you can spare a pound or two to go towards ingredients and packaging, they’ll be sure to make your donation go a long way. These meals are guaranteed to make a massive difference to those that need it right now, and we know that with the help and support of the Kings Heath community, this initiative could be a real lifeline for some.
So, how can you help? The team have set up a GoFundMe to help cover the cost of the food and the ingredients, and we’re thrilled to see that they’ve already exceeded their initial target of £200. But the more donations that come in, the more meals that can be made and the more people that can be helped. Even the smallest donation can help to kickstart this fantastic initiative, so please keep donating. Check out their fundraising page here – https://gofund.me/dc389ff9
Aside from cash donations, please share the fundraising page and this information as much as you can so that those that need the help know that it’s there. One of the toughest hurdles with services like this is establishing connections with people that are struggling and need the help. If you or someone you know would benefit from free meals and food support, please get in touch with the team at The Station who are working with the staff at Loco Lounge to distribute their delicious food.
The Enjoy Kings Heath team would also like to say a quick thank you once again to teams and organisations like the Loco Lounge staff, everyone at The Station, and The Active Wellbeing Society for their continued generosity and support amid the ongoing health crisis. You provide a lifeline within our community, volunteering your own time to help others at such a difficult time. Thank you so much and keep up the good work!
