On Saturday, we teamed up with street food giants The Vegan Grindhouse and champions of indie artists Kitchen Garden Cafe for the first in a series of 100% VEGAN markets…and what an incredible day it was!
Loads of you turned out from Kings Heath (and beyond!) to feast on the meat-free delights from the likes of Bare Bones Pizza, Pietanic, Mex It Up, Michael’s Caribbean, Vegetropolis, Rachael’s Cake Delights, Vork, and of course, The Vegan Grindhouse. Tucking into everything from vegan pizza and pie to burgers and burritos, and all washed down with a vegan tipple courtesy of Twisted Barrel Ales, you lot were SO hungry for their vegan grub that many of our traders completely SOLD OUT!
And as well as scoffing all of the yummy vegan treats, we shopped until we dropped at the Kitchen Garden Art Market, organised by the lovely folk from York Road’s Kitchen Garden Cafe. showcasing the work of some of the city’s most talented artists, creators, crafters and makers, the stalls featured lots of lovely unique, handmade items…it was almost impossible to leave empty handed!
Live music from some of the best up and coming artists in Birmingham provided the soundtrack to the afternoon, with performances from Sophia Dady, Acoustic Sunset, Rainy Day Woman, and Arwen and Nelson. We’re sure you’ll agree, they were all amazing!
All money raised from the day went to animal charity Grace’s Rest, an organisation who care for rescued exotic animals, so a huge thank you to everyone who came along and showed your support for this fantastic cause, and supported our local traders and talent, too! If you missed it, check out some of the photos from the afternoon below and click here for the full album.
The next Kings Heath Vegan Street Food + Art Market will take place on Sunday 16th July – make sure that you’ve got the date in your diary and that you’re following us on Facebook and Twitter for all of the latest line-up announcements!
