It’s time to eat, drink and be merry, and where better to do so than in Kings Heath?
We are very lucky to have a host of great independent businesses right on our doorstep, so some of our favourites for the festive season include:
The Juke
We love the vibes that The Juke brings to Kings Heath, with music from the 50s, 60s and 70s, and they will be welcoming some very special guests for their food this December! Expect the likes of Buena Onda, Patty Dabblers and Brum-Mi to bring the munch to go alongside the craft beers, wines, spirits and more from the bar.
Kitchen Garden Cafe and Fletchers Bar
Two of our most loved venues will be hosting their annual Christmas fair on Sunday 12th December, from 10am-4.30pm. There will be unique Christmas gifts, Christmas carols, mulled wine and cider, and festive eats! They also have a range of other events over the festive season, and are also the perfect spot for a casual drink or bite to eat.
Hare and Hounds
Hare and Hounds is a definite go-to for live music and great nights out! Some December highlights include Matt Hoy’s Christmas Reggae Party on the 20th, Dirty Old Folkers Christmas Panto – Scrooge on the 23rd, and of course their New Year’s Eve party to welcome in 2022!
Loco Lounge
Head to Loco Lounge for their delicious winter menu, such as a warming beef brisket chilli, and enjoy a cup of their mulled wine with your meal too! They’re also hosting a Christmas quiz on Sunday 12th December, with all proceeds going to Home Start. First prize is a £50 voucher, and second is a bottle of wine or a round of puds!
The Kingsway
It’s not too late to enjoy The Kingsway Christmas market! Join them every Thursday evening in the lead-up to Xmas, for mulled wines and ciders, boozy hot drinks, baked taters and chestnuts, all with live music! Their usual craft, vintage and record markets will also be on at the weekend.
The Station
Christmas at The Station is set to be a fun-filled day for all the family! Santa will be there to deliver Christmas gifts, and there will be glitter face painting, carols, tombola, Moselele Ukulele band, mulled wine and cider, bratwurst and deluxe hot chocolate as well. They are also raising money for the Kings Heath Food Bank, so you can bring food for the collection and support their fundraising efforts.
Poli
We’re already dreaming about Poli’s festive menu: their festive pizza is topped with house apricot and sage sausage, caramelised onions and Baron Bigod cheese. They will bring Nando’s to Kings Heath on 6th December as well, with their peri-peri chicken night, to spice up the cold winter’s evening.
Grace and James
Grace and James have launched their festive sandwiches, and we already can’t wait to get our hands on one! These are available between 11am-2pm on Thursday-Saturday, but be quick as they may sell out. They are also hosting a Christmas seafood extravaganza at Upstairs, on Thursday 23rd December – make sure you book for this event now.
Indian restaurants
There’s no doubt that Birmingham’s the home of the curry in the UK…and we are lucky to have so many Indian restaurants right by us in Kings Heath! These include The Sylhet Spice, Kings Indian Dining, Tawa Land, The Spice Merchant, No. 42, The Raj Rani, Punjab Dhaba, Poplar Balti and Tiffinguys, so book ahead for your Christmas get-togethers.
Lebanese Feast
We love supporting new places in Kings Heath, especially during the festive period. We’ve recently welcomed Lebanese Feast onto the High Street, and they’re the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat between your Christmas shopping!
