Kings Heath Artisan Market by Birmingham Artisan Markets
This Sunday the 13th of October, from 10am until 3pm, your monthly community Artisan Market will be returning to York Road…
Attracting over forty independent traders from across the region, there will be a dazzling array of hand-crafted goods on offer, from delicious street food to vintage vinyl, and everything in between. So, show some support for your local producers and get down to York Road this Sunday – see you there!
Under 5s Art Club at How Brave is the Wren
Budding creatives of Kings Heath, this one’s for you!
Along with their monthly Art Club for kids aged 7-12, How Brave have also been trialling an Under 5s Art Club, taking place on Tuesdays. Throughout these sessions, art will primarily be approached as a form of play and exploration, encouraging kids to get messy and have fun! Find more information and tickets here.
The next date for the Under 5s Art Club will be the 15th of October. The club will run from 1.15pm – 2.15pm. Tickets cost £7.50pp.
Storytelling at Kitchen Garden Café
As the days grow darker and the leaves begin to turn, seek sanctuary from the Autumn chill and settle in for an evening of storytelling at the Kitchen Garden Café.
This month, on the 16th of October, listeners will be encouraged to abandon Birmingham’s stony skies and escape to the Aegean Sea, where Despina Ariou awaits an audience with whom to share her stories… Click here to book your one-way ticket.

Pumpkin Painting at The Station
Get ready for a night of spooky fun at The Station in Kings Heath…
With access to all of the necessary supplies, as well as a community book swap, unleash your creativity and get into the Halloween spirit this Thursday the 17th of October with an evening of pumpkin painting at The Station. For more information and tickets, click here.
The session will run from 7.30pm until 9.30pm, with plenty of time to grab a drink at the bar afterwards. Tickets cost £13.70pp.
‘Check the Rhyme’ at Hare and Hounds
The 90s are BACK (even if it’s just for the night)…
On Friday the 18th of October, the decade of grunge will be making a return and you won’t want to miss it. Join DJs Mister Bread, Mad Flow and E Double D on the dance floor from 9pm onwards and revive the golden age of hip-hop with tracks from A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, De La Soul and more. Kings Heath Art Market by Trad Arts Team
Calling all local artists (and art connoisseurs)!
Throughout the afternoon on Sunday the 19th of October, Trad Arts’ monthly Art Market will be returning to Kings Heath. A celebration of creativity, whatever the medium, Kings Heath Art Market is an opportunity for artists from across the area to showcase their talent and hard work to the general public. Come and show your support from 2pm – 5pm at the New Life Baptist Church (directly opposite Asda). Batik Mahogany Plate Workshop at Blow Water Café
Take a break from the chaos of back-to-school season and reset with a three-hour batik workshop from Batik Ying…
Taking place at Blow Water Café on Wednesday the 23rd of October, the Batik Mahogany Plate Workshop will first allow attendees to familiarise themselves with the ancient practice of batiking, before encouraging them to try it out for themselves on their own mahogany plate. As well as all of the necessary tools and materials, a plate of Blow Water’s famous dumplings will also be provided. Click here to secure your spot.
