Kings Heath United Against Racism will be holding a Unity Weekender Festival from Friday 12th May – Sunday 14th May.
Members of Kings Heath’s diverse community, including anti-racist activists and local venue owners are coming together under the banner of Kings Heath United Against Racism to ensure racist Islamophobic attacks don’t go unchallenged and to celebrate the rich cultural diversity of our area and raise awareness of Islamophobia and racism.
Across a number of venues including Fletchers Bar, Kitchen Garden Cafe, Hare & Hounds, The Juke, The Station and How Brave Is The Wren, the Weekender will have live music, DJs, spoken word, storytelling, arts and crafts workshops, mural painting and discussions.
It’s a sign of the Kings Heath community’s strong, supportive and close-knit nature that local residents, anti-racist activists and venue owners have come together to take this solidarity forward. We are determined to make it clear that Islamophobic and other racist attacks like this will not go unchallenged and we hope everyone will support the Weekender by attending the programme of events.
