Hello from the Enjoy Kings Heath team! We do hope everyone is staying safe, practicing social distancing and washing their hands thoroughly and often. It’s so important that we come together as a community and make a combined effort to follow the guidelines the government is giving us because the sooner we do, the more lives we save and the sooner we can get things back to normal.
In the meantime, we wanted to pull the focus back to the positives in our local community, which is why we’re introducing a brand new local newsletter – Kings Heath United – that’s designed to send a ray of sunshine directly into your inbox during these difficult times! From uplifting local news, to much-needed self-isolation tips and advice for us all in the B14 area.
Our first issue is live now, and you can take a look by clicking here. Our focus was the heartwarming Clap For Our Carers campaign, which we were overwhelmed to see so many of you take part in last Thursday evening. Our frontline NHS staff and key healthcare workers are true heroes, putting themselves at risk every single day as we fight back against Coronavirus, which is why it was so important to show them how much they truly are appreciated by us all.
We also shared some updates from local businesses, a glimpse at the hilarious “Lock Down Brum” community TV channel, some ideas to fill your empty days, and a look at some poetry from the winners of the Kings Heath Poetry Competition. We may be living behind closed doors for the time being, but there’s still so much going on here in Kings Heath, and our Kings Heath United newsletter aims to celebrate that! The next issue will be out very soon!
If you haven’t signed up already, please do so here.
If you have any news that you’d love to share in our next newsletter, we’d love to hear from you! Simply email your community news to community@enjoykingsheath.com.
