Need somewhere for the kids to blow off some steam over the half term? Birmingham has plenty of places to go with the kids, but we are looking a little closer to home. We have put together some of best places in Kings Heath for some quality family time.
Hickory Dickory’s is one of our favourites, and is the perfect place for the little ones to have some fun. Your kids won’t be able to get enough of this fun adventure playhouse, and it’s open every day! There is plenty to keep your children occupied, from trampolines, to slides and climbing frames, they’ll have the time of their lives. Sit back and relax in the clock café with food and drinks, whilst the kids play and run around. Look out for any special events coming soon, for exciting activities and family fun.
Pop down to Kings Heath Park every first Saturday of the month for a free kids fun run! Races start at 09:00 so get there for 08:45 for a warm up before the race. There will be various races happening in the park, from 50m for 0-2 year olds and to 500m-1km for the older children. Pop down for some running fun for the kids, no experience required! Every child will receive a sticker when they’ve completed their race! Collect the stickers to receive some exciting Kids Run Free prizes. Find out more here!
Want to try something different? Circus Mash have the perfect activity, and we are sure your kids will love it! They offer circus training in workshops, classes or programmes, available for all children aged five and above. The school encourages young children to conquer fears and embrace a can-do attitude whilst developing skills for circus. Why not join in with the fun yourself and sign up to the adult workshops, fun for everyone!
If you are looking for a family friendly place to eat then Loco Lounge is you next stop, they have loads to keep the kids entertained in their kids area, which eliminates any teary moments when HANGER strikes, hell hath no fury like a two-year-old (any age) who has been promised food. They even have a mini library with books to share, borrow, and even add your own.
Want something to do on a Sunday morning? We know the best place to go. Head over to Gorilla Coffee Cafe for 08:30 every Sunday for a fun bike ride. Starting from the Cafe, all ages, and abilities are welcome! Enjoy a brisk bike ride, before overindulging with some tasty cakes and a warm drink.
With all the amazing trinkets, craft items, food and drink available at the Kings Heath Farmers Market you’ll have a hard time drawing your little ones attention away from the stalls. After a chat with one of the friendly vendors at the market your kids will know all about the world of farming and where their food comes from. The ever-popular farmers markets take place on the first Saturday of every month with the nxet market taking place on Saturday 3rd June.
